Admission forms, which are always available as from April every Year are obtainable at the College. The duly completed forms should be returned to the Registrar, Federal Co-operative College on or before the end of August. Short listed candidates are invited for interview which is usually held in the College premises in August. Candidates are also admitted through Monotechnics/ Polytechnics/Colleges of Education Matriculation Examination - MPCE (Poly Jamb). The result of the interview is communicated to successful candidates before the beginning of a new academic session which starts in October, every year.
CLOSURE OF ADMISSION/ REGISTRATION / PAYMENT OF FEES
(i) Admission / Registration / Payment of fees must end by 24th December of current academic session. Failure to meet this deadline would result in the forfeiture of the provisional admission.
(iii) Students are to pay the prescribed fees as approved by Government.
The fees could be changed without prior notice.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
Successful candidates offered admission should comply with the registration procedure that will be communicated to them on resumption.
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN CO-OPERATIVE
ECONOMICS & MANAGEMENT
National Diploma in Co-operative Economics and Management, Business studies and related programmes with a minimum of pass at lower Credit Level plus a minimum of one year Post National Diploma cognate work experience.
MATRICULATION
Matriculation of the students is an integral part of students registration exercise, and shall mark the end of admission and registration of students. On no account shall any student be admitted and / or registered after matriculation.
ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR FRESH STUDENTS
There will be an orientation programme for fresh students at the commencement of each academic year, which affords fresh students the opportunity to be acquainted with the College and its environs. The Programme is compulsory for new students because during the period the rules and regulations and such other procedures which guide the students in the College are explained to them.
PRE-HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN CO-OPERATIVE
ECONOMICS & MANAGEMENT
Professional Diploma in Co-operative studies plus four credits in WASC/ NECO / NABTEB / GCE O Level as specified for the National Diploma.
NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN CO-OPERATIVE ECONOMICS & MANAGEMENT
West African School Certificate (WASC), General Certificate of Education (GCE) at ordinary level or Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE); NECO or their equivalent with four credits including English Language and a pass in Maths (neither Literature in English nor Oral English is acceptable in place of English Language), and three other subjects from Economics, Commerce, Business Methods, History, Statistics, Geography, Government, Agric. Science / Biology.
A credit pass at NBTE recognized pre-National Diploma Examination in English Language and Mathematics and four other relevant subjects listed above is accepted.
PRE-NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN CO-OPERATIVE ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT
Four passes at WASC, GCE, OLevel, Senior Secondary School Certificate or their equivalent. The four passes must include English Language & Mathematics plus two other relevant subjects as listed above.
DIPLOMA IN CO-OPERATIVE STUDIES
This course is available to newly appointed Registrars of Co-operative Societies as well as Co-operative officers. It is also meant for co-operative senior staff cadre. Students attending this course must possess either: A University degree or its equivalent or four credit passes obtained at the certificate Course in Co-operative Studies at States Co-operative Colleges and three passes at WASC / SSCE / GCE in three relevant subjects.
RE-OPENING AND REGISTRATION OF STUDENTS
The date of re-opening and registration will be determined by the Academic board depending on the time of release of letters of admission by the college. This applies strictly to the fresh students. For the continuing students, the re-opening date shall be as contained in the academic Calendar approved by the Academic Board. Students must register for their programme in person within three weeks of the beginning of each semester. Students will be registered only when they produce the following:
- The Original Admission Letter
- Evidence of payment of the relevant Institutional fees.
- Original Education Certificate or certified photocopies of the computer print out of WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB or *Certificates/Diplomas as may be applicable and meeting departmental requirements.
- Recent medical certificate of fitness and x-ray photograph / report
- Six passport size photographs
- Birth Certificate or Sworn Declaration of Age.
- Evidence of conduct from former principal or last school attended/ employer/reputable citizen / senior public servant.
